Ten Pin Bowling

Christmas 2001 Bowling
A marvellous morning

This annual Christmas event is combined with a great Christmas Party. We start at the Pro-Lane-Bowl for some morning ten-pin bowling and afterwards go for a lovely lunch in Di Maggios.

At the bowling, not one person performs badly. Everyone has a marvellous time with the majority of the members scoring double the amount of points as the adults there!

The lunch at Di Maggios was devoured by everyone! After lunch every member is presented with a certifcate of participation for the events that they had taken part in throughout the year. Also the winners of the bowling game are presented with a certificate and medal for their efforts.

Presented with flowers
Tears were shed

The picture to the left shows tears being shed as committee members Ann-Marie (Treasurer), Carole McKehnie (Secretary) and Fiona Todd (Public Relations Officer) are presented with flowers to show the club's gratitude.

All-in-all, the day is always much appreciated by everyone. (Especially after the Christmas gifts are distributed!)

Inverclyde National Sports Centre

Each year, during the summertime, the Club offers a one-day visit to the Inverclyde National Sports Centre at Largs. The Centre, in its own extensive grounds overlooks the popular seaside town of Largs, and commands magnificant views of Arran, Great Cumbrae and the Firth of Clyde. It was established in 1958 by the Scottish Council of Physical Recreation as a memorial to King George VI. Since 1972 the Centre has been administered by Sportscotland and today, offers the very best of sporting facilities with training and coaching in a wide range of sporting activities. Many of Scotland's sports governing bodies use the facilities to train national squads and the Centre is a regular venue for major national and international championships.

The day visit offers our Club Members an excellent recreational opportunity to receive coaching in sports such as Golf, Football, Basketball, Tennis and Volleyball at one of the best sports facilities in Scotland. By popular demand, the Club hopes to make this a regular annual event on the calendar.

Verdict: A great day out!!
